JD is now One!

This week we documented the coming of the 1st full year of JD's life.  I'm loving how his hair is staying so red!  I can hardly wait to get all the Hood boys together again!

Standing solo is such a proud accomplishment - Welcome to a higher look on life.

He didn't stand still long - but it was just long enough.   JD's first year is now complete!

Brown/Colby Wedding

Summer is the season for weddings galore and this year is no exception.  Jordan and Jeff are an awesome couple and they are one of those that helps redefine love!  Here are just a handful of images for you to enjoy ending with my favorite from the day.

As promised, my all time favorite - I knew as soon as the shutter went click!  This is the romance that keeps me coming back for more...

I've been Honorably Mentioned

This year I have decided to start submitting work for competition.  I entered the 2nd Annual Beaufort County Photography Exhibit and got an honorable mention in my category for Nature/Landscapes.  The exhibit will open July 23rd.

I heard of this exhibit from my in-laws who live in Beaufort County.

Here is the image - Hooray!

Addison is back!

My dear friends Sherri and Addison are back and they came for portraits last week in between breaks in the rain.  I haven't seen Addison since before she could walk - now at 2 years old she's more than walking!  Wait until you see her with wings...

Who could say no to this Fairy Princess?

First Official Photographs

Sometimes you discover wonderful personality traits in children while they are being photographed.  A few weeks ago I met an acrobat...

And I met a beautiful poster child!

I saw eyes full of wonder.

And feet fast as lightning!

I even met a silly goose.  Now that's what I call a fun afternoon!

Never sneak up on a sleeping cat!

Last Friday I was busy in the garden, preparing for the next Spring Session.  I was creating my plan and thinking of the best flow to and from each location and I must have disturbed Oscar's nap!  I think you can figure out what he was telling me with this look - but as long as I'm at arm's length I don't worry... Over the past 10 years I've collected more grumpy photos than sweet kitty photos of this baby.  If you know this cat you're laughing right now.

Anyway, photos from the real session will follow but I'll be taking suggestions for the inspirational saying to put on this new wall poster.

Garden Fun for Families

There's a new member of the Alexander family in this year's Spring Portraits.  Sarah and Sam brought their new sister Sophia to the garden last week for some fun times.

Sarah and Sam have been sitting for me for a few years now - they know the drill - and they love it!

Sophia is a fast learner though, and such a friendly smile - we'll have many more of this little one to show very soon!

Mothers remember you may wind up in these photos - don't forget your lip gloss!
